Meetings of the Eastern Missouri Beekeepers are held the second Wednesday of every month at the Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center. 11715 Cragwold Rd. The main meeting starts at 6:30 pm. They included seasonal management topics, guest speakers, and offer new beekeepers the opportunity to obtain advice from veteran beekeepers.

The main building doors will be closed. However, the side doors to the left will be open. Maintenance personnel will be on site.
Jan 9th -
Our speaker will be Troy Hart of Lonedell Missouri. Troy is a member of and has served as director for EMBA. He has been keeping bees since 1997 and currently has 40 colonies. Troy has received agricultural grants related to honeybees and blue berries. He will be sharing his knowledge of bee pollen with us.
Feb 13th -
Sharon Gibbons will talk about Spring Management.
Sharon and her son Chris sell honey to area markets under the label Gibbons Bee Farm. The Gibbons’ keep roughly 125 hives scattered throughout St. Louis County. They also have another, larger operation near Columbia. At one time they had over 1,000 beehives. Sharon has served as EMBA president and is now currently involved in organizing the state bee meetings.

7pm: Spring chores and basic beekeeping for beginners.

Auditorium - Beginner Hive Set Up, Hive Visits, and Installation of Package Bees
